Description: This data is used to depict the outlines of structures within each community of the Northwest Territories. It provides a base to be used for land management purposes in identifying the approximate location of structures with respect to surveyed lot lines and other topographical features. This data set is not to be used for defining the exact location of structures; administrative decisions should be based on legal documents and legal survey plans.
Structure Polygons: This data represents the outline of structures, excluding buildings, within each community of the Northwest Territories. Features represented include tanks, docks, retaining walls, ramps, bridges, culverts, towers, dishes, pits, quarries, parks, poles, signs, pipelines, fences, etc. The dataset is periodically updated on a community-wide scale and updated with new construction/demolitions as shown on newly-registered plans of survey.
